Cholesterol is a fat that circulates via your blood and is needed to build healthy cells.
It’s naturally produced in your body but you can also get it from many fatty foods. Total cholesterol is the aggregate of cholesterol particles in your bloodstream. Since excess cholesterol blocks your blood vessels, it’s not good for your heart’s health. So, a lower total cholesterol level is better for you.
