Glycoprotein acetylation (GlycA) is a measure of inflammation-related changes in certain types of proteins in your blood.

It is an indication of chronic low-grade inflammation in your body. Medical studies associate low-grade inflammation with increased risk of diabetes, heart, kidney and liver problems. Therefore, a lower concentration of GlycA is better. However, note that strenuous exercise or an acute infection (such as having a cold) may temporarily increase its level.
