Saturated fatty acids (SFA)% tells you how much of your total fatty acid count is SFA.
Saturated fatty acids (such as from butter, cheese and red meat) are often considered “bad” fats that you should keep an eye on.
Your body naturally produces enough SFA for essential functions and so you don’t need extra. Eating too much SFA-rich food can increase both type 2 diabetes and heart disease risk. So, they are bad for your health. A lower level of SFA% is therefore better.
